Dromkeal Multiple Stone Circle is at the head of Bantry Bay. About 6km north of Bantry and 400m east of the Coomhola River estuary. For many years it was hidden inside a forestry plantation but the trees around it have recently (December 2006) been felled.

Dromkeal Multiple Stone Circle, Cork, Ireland. NE from Dromkeal Multiple Stone Circle, Cork, Ireland. SW from Dromkeal Multiple Stone Circle, Cork, Ireland. About 9m in diameter, the circle seems to be incomplete but perhaps had 13 stones originally. The radially set portals are fortunately still upright as is just one other stone, which means that two stones have fallen since it was inspected by the Archaeological Survey about 30 years ago. Just west of the centre, "possible" boulder-burial CO105-053 almost certainly is a real one as the circle builders would not have left a boulder there. Curiously, a similar boulder is just outside the circle but there are no others in the vicinity.

This seems to be the first step in an inland penetration from the head of Bantry Bay by both multiple stone circle and boulder people:
