I have been considering relationships between sky and landscape since reading Thom in 1981. The formal investigation began in 1990 though it wasn't until 1998 that a theodolite was employed. It quickly became apparent that there was something going on but it has taken a long time to develop the ability to see that which should have been obvious from the beginning.
My revolutionary method is quite simply to accurately survey the Whole Horizon rather than just investigating monument orientation. The work of expanding and improving the data set erratically continues, without external funding, when suitable weather and available time coincide.
