NGR 09973/05749

SW from Carran Cairn. Carran Cairn is located in Coomhola, to the north of Bantry.

Considerably depleted now, it marked the Bronze Age most extreme northerly moonrise when viewed from Standing Stone CO105-065, 1.4km to the south-west, in Farranfadda. That Standing Stone is 310m north-west of the Mill Little complex, from where this cairn is also on the skyline but somewhat beyond the most extreme northerly moonrise position (Declination c.33°).
