NE from Ardcrony Portal Tomb, Tipperary, Ireland. SE from Ardcrony Portal Tomb, Tipperary, Ireland. W from Ardcrony Portal Tomb, Tipperary, Ireland. NW from Ardcrony Portal Tomb, Tipperary, Ireland. Ardcrony Portal Tomb is in pasture and on an easterly slope. Only three stones remain that would appear to be: two stones of the north side of the chamber plus a displaced rear capstone. Tomb axis c.89°. Far horizons lost in haze/cloud. Local, smooth skylines with hedges from c.135° to c.290°

It doesn't look terribly promising at first sight but is probably similar to those monuments of the Cork-Kerry Complex that are at the limits of their geographical range. Most monuments are sited in areas with fairly humpy-bumpy horizons but as they invade more fertile ground the undulations of the landscape become much more subtle and it takes a keener eye to see their relationship with the sky.
