cashelkeelty-fsc : Landscape for Stellarium
====================================================================

Description
-----------

View from Cashelkeelty Five Stone Circle, Kerry, Ireland.

This is an old-style calibrated panorama.
It is an equi-rectangular cylindrical projection.

Multiple photographs have, within a CAD environment, been scaled,
clipped & fitted to surveyed data points on the horizon.

Because the photos are only scaled along the horizon, there are often discontinuities between adjacent frames in other places.
Boundaries between frames may also be visible as changes of colour/contrast/sharpness.
A much smaller number of shorter focal length photos were used for the nearer ground.
These are also keyed to the horizon and provide greater local context but the result is considerably less precise.
The immediate foreground was not photographed at all (within this context) as production of a spherical panorama was not the original intent.

Installation & Use
------------------
If you have Stellarium 0.10.6 or a later version,
you can use the 'Add/remove landscapes' feature to install landscapes automatically:

Open the 'Sky and viewing options' window by clicking on the appropriate button,
in the left button bar, or by pressing the F4 key.
The 'Add/remove landscapes' button is at the bottom of the 'Landscape' tab.
When you press it, the 'Add/remove landscapes' window will appear.
This allows you to install .zip files containing landscapes.
It also lists existing user-installed landscapes and allows you to remove them.

This feature makes installing landscapes easy but
may cause you to overlook other content included in the .zip file:
Landscape packages may contain other files,
such as alternative textures in different sizes.

If you have an earlier version of Stellarium:
Unzip the zip file in the <user_directory>/landscapes directory.
The <user_directory> location depends on your operating system.
See the Stellarium User Guide for details.

Once you have sucessfully installed the landscape, open Stellarium and
go to the 'Sky and viewing options' dialog and select its landscapes tab.
Then select the newly installed landscape from the list of available landscapes.

The horizon-cashelkeelty-fsc.txt file contains a trace of the horizon as a set of az, alt pairs.
The landscape.ini file contains the code to display the horizon-cashelkeelty-fsc.txt data but it has been commented out.
The relevent lines are:
;polygonal_horizon_list = horizon-cashelkeelty-fsc.txt
;horizon_line_color = .4,.4,.4
Remove the initial ; from both lines to see the trace displayed over the pictorial horizon.
